(Free) Programs I have used to become a Vtuber + Links and such

Hallo hallo! I have decided to create a basic list of the different programs I have gone through to try and become a Vtuber!

Please note that these are all my opinions based on my own experiences.

First off, please have a computer with more than 24GB. That’s important. And make sure it can handle multiple programs open at once (depending on what you plan to do that’s really important also).

No Video This Week

I’ve exhausted myself with other things for a majority of the day and with the sudden strong heat I felt too tired to work on anything so I probably won’t be getting a video up this week, my apologies for that… (and if I do it might be rushed…)

Not sure if I’ll announce what it was I had spent most of my time on today since it probably wouldn’t be of interest to anyone but I did want to at least apologize if there’s no video Friday.

In terms of Vtubing…

In this day and age it feels as if there is no possible form of escapism, you can’t do anything without angering someone and you can’t say anything without being *insert name here* and no matter where you go or what you do someone is going to bring the “P” word into it…

Lately it’s all been eating at me, and with OBS doing the crap it’s doing I’ve been attempting to use my alternate recording software to really no avail and to much anger.

I decided to go back to OBS and I’m currently working on fixing it again but my patience is low so I’m not too sure when it will be up and running properly again.

If you’re willing to wait bless you, you are a saint. I’ll try and do my best to get it up in a couple of days and hopefully all this nastiness will be clear of my mind again since it obviously won’t have faded from reality any time soon. Thank you for reading this and sorry for the rant-ish vibe this has haha.

Big Issue

So, I recorded a new video early this morning, a drawing video. I did it no different from usual and immediately after recording went straight to editing. Nothing different from usual. After I finished all of the editing I went to export it, it failed, which isn’t different from usual, it takes two tries to export a video properly. I tried again for the second time; failed again. It’s 10 PM right now, still trying to export it. Tried five times now, onto my sixth and it’s still failing. The one time it worked it was a soundless, black screen….

I have no idea what’s going on but if my twelve minute drawing video (full drawing took 44 minutes) doesn’t export I’m gonna be real freaking peeved. Not to mention, if this one video isn’t exporting will any others in the future? I don’t know yet but I am honestly so angry right now…

Vroid model + Short Absence

I’ve been having some bad wisdom tooth pain so I haven’t been able to talk properly so I couldn’t record anything (and I won’t be able to see a dentist until next month). Because of that I started working on my Vroid model again and I think he’s finished! Couldn’t make any cute clothes (at least, I couldn’t think of any to make for this without a skirt or dress) so I went with something pretty casual. It’s not great but it was an attempt.

So, back on the subject of Vroid again! I haven’t made much progression on the model, but then again I haven’t made much progression to be able to use my own in Vrchat hehe.

I’m really unsure of how to make Vroid me look in terms of clothing, cos right now he looks like your typical school boy and that’s not really what I was going for. It’s a bit of a shame there aren’t more customization options for guys in it like in V-Katsu (body options+cute clothes), but I guess that’s just not what people want, huh? Anyway, wanna finish him soon, but he may end up looking like a boy-boy unless I REALLY wanna work at it! But that takes creativity and I’m lazy hehe

VRM to PMX

I’m not using Vroid anymore because I had to download so many programs to accompany it and only had so much room, though in the future I wish to convert over to it for Vrchat. The issue here though is I would very much enjoy converting it over to .pmx for MMD as well, and testing out the converter I found it’s not too helpful. It seems to leave out the groove bone which is pretty important, not to mention one model came out mutilated… I’m hoping someone either makes an alternative or these things are fixed/added because I couldn’t fix any of it…

OBS

Hnnng. I am not liking OBS right now. It seems like a fine program but I keep being struck with “Encoder overloaded” and slow, laggy videos. It was perfectly fine yesterday, videos like butter but overnight, with the same settings, it’s now screwing over everything I’m trying to do no matter how I change the settings.

Not sure what I’m supposed to do.
